SOMONTANO WINE FESTIVAL

For the eleventh year, the Denomination of Origin Somontano Regulating Council is holding the Somontano Wine Festival, one of the most important wine tourism events in Spain. This will take place in Barbastro, the capital of Somontano, from 5 to 8 August, and in addition to wine there will be music and food. Along with the event organisers, Barbastro Town Council, Huesca Provincial Council and the Autonomous Government of Aragon are also involved in this great event.

The concerts for the Festival will take place in the Barbastro Bullring. The events will start at 11pm and, as in previous years, the line-up is exceptional. David Bisbal, El Barrio, El Sueño de Morfeo and Nino Bravo "El Musical" will fill the four summer nights at Somontano with their voices and performances.

Within the framework of the festival, and in parallel with the concerts, the Denomination of Origin Somontano Regulating Council and the Interprofessional Committee for the Wines of South-West France will organise the Gastronomic Tasting within the INTERREG programme, using European Regional Development Funds. This will involve the participation of the most famous and prestigious restaurants in the area and other top-class organisations related to the food-agriculture sector. It will take place in a part of the city close to the headquarters of the Denomination of Origin Somontano which has been specially prepared with exquisite style and great attention to detail.

The Gastronomic Tasting will open to the public at 9pm and will also include a children's play centre hosting various workshops and children's activities so that the children can enjoy themselves and play while the adults taste the tapas and wines from the Denomination of Origin Somontano and the South-West of France.
